What's it like in the outback?? I'm an American. Such harsh terrain . Tell me more,the land,the people etc?

I used to live in the Northern Territory and its tough out there. You have to be careful with the wet season (November to March) up there because when it rains it pours rivers and gorges raise considerably. You never travel on your own make sure you have plenty of supplies especially water. Its very desolate. The people are friendly, the aboriginals are great people, I used to go on walkabouts with them, they are the people who know the land very well. You would be better looking up on the internet the Northern Territory or Western Australia for more information.
