How does changing my display picture to a cartoon help the problem of child abuse?

it's only called awareness. those with no connection to child abuse and endangerment don't usually think about it much. by bringing things up, it calls particular issues to the forefront. it will not help an abused child unless someone actually takes action. much like cancer awareness. i never thought much about it until i was flooded with awareness campaigns.. any sort of demonstration, petition, march or ribbon is futile as far as getting things done, but awareness may bring people to serve, donate, get mammograms etc. so far it's working. so many......you included, are talking about child abuse. now that it's been brought up, what can we do about it?
